I spotted Kraft South Beach barbecue sauce at Stop & Shop yesterday. It was the first time since last summer. It looks like they may just be branding it South Beach rather than low sugar. It is the best low carb barbecue sauce that I have found, and I stocked up, in case it was a fluke.
I have to tell you that the Kraft website absolutely sucks -- and I seldom use that term, but you can't find a thing on it. They don't have a main product locator, when you type in "buy barbecue sauce" in the search engine you get nothing. I KNOW they have information about their products, but when you click on brands, few products actually have links. It is just the worst thing for a big multi-national like Kraft to stymie their customer's search for knowledge. In the past, I have found the product locator for barbecue sauce and it didn't say that Stop & Shop carried it, only Market Basket, and I couldn't find it in my local Market Basket. So, this is what I don't know, was Stop & Shop carrying it a fluke because Kraft Barbecue Sauce is on sale this week or, now that the package has changed to South Beach, will we see a steady supply like the Kraft South Beach Carbwell cereal bars?
Interesting points. However, can you not buy it online? It would save a lot of head-scratching! ;-)

I found a huge display of this in my local HyVee grocery store tonight, and I mean huge. It had the "South Beach" on the label, and I think it means it's a "new and improved" (not really) product that will be around for a while. Glad to hear it's good, I was wondering.

I just found your blog and you are giving me some good tips-
I just want to point out that Kraft is owned by a cigarette company and I personally DO NOT allow Kraft products in my house- when you know better your need to try and do better as Oprah says-
Thanks for your blog-

Have you used the sauce in crockpot cooking? I was thinking to plop a brisket in the ol' crockpot along with a bottle of this sauce. Should I add anything else? Couple of garlic cloves and a chopped onion? Any other ideas? Honey, maybe?

Hey Cate,
The farmers of America thank you. What an interesting reason to not buy a product because Oprah tells you not to. So if Oprah told you to jump off a cliff do you promise promise you would?
Curiously yours,
Brookes

Ok, I'm back in CA from Nevada, up in the Pleasant Hill area of the Bay Area, next to THE CITY, which means for all you poor benighted heathens, San Francisco, and I'm looking for any grocery store in the area that carries any sugar free or light bbq sauce. Tried Safeway's, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Wal-Mart superstores. NADA. Any one live up here and doing a healthy lifestyle that includes high amounts of protein and low amounts of carbs that can recommend someplace to get decent carb reduced groceries?
thanks in advance for any help.

Sybil Trice Why don't you ask your rich make believe boyfriend who is a doctor? You should have had more than bypass surgery ... how about a lobectomy!
