Missing those bagels?
I had given up on finding a low carb bagel other than the hard-to-find OroWheat/Thomas product. However, this week I found a fairly tasty one in the refrigerated/dairy department of a Super WalMart in Tucson, Arizona... Fleischer's Carb Trimmer bagel (plain or raisin)at 10 net carbs (26g carbs, 16g fiber, no trans fat or saturated fat). It's a bit pricey at $2.67 for a bag of 6, so I save them for a reward snack. I've been low-carb dieting for 6 months (with doctor's OK) and maintaining my 20 lb loss for the past 2 months... hence the reward. My husband has also lost 30 on the same diet. We also walk 3 miles every day and drink lots of water (hey, we're in the desert). We're both 62 and retired. It really helps when both spouses diet together.
Fleischer's Bagels is located in Macedon, NY and has a website at fleischersbagels.com. Enjoy reading Low Carb Freedom!
Thanks... Jan, a snowbird in Tucson

I LIVE IN KENNER, LA 70065 MY SUPER WAL MART STOPPED SELLING FLEISCHERS BAGELS CARB TRIMMERS AND I NEED TO FIND A RETAILER HERE. I LOVE THEM AND WANT MORE.

When the Walmarts in my area quit stocking the Fleischer's Carb Trimmer Bagels (Plain and Raisin), I sent an e-mail to the Walmart Corporate office (see WWW.Walmart.com) and let them know that I knew several people who wanted them back in the stores. If everyone who wants Low carb and/or high fiber (15 or 16 grams depending on plain or raisin bagel) good tasting bagels would e-mail Walmart Corporate office, maybe they will stock them in the stores. I received a response from Walmart requesting the store locations I was interested in and the UPC Code. FYI, the UPC code for Carb Trimmer Raisin is 7397877113. These bagels were located in the refrigeration area near the sour cream or cottage cheese area at the Walmarts I shop at.

According to Aaron Fleischer with Fleischer Bagels, you will be able to purchase the Carb Trimmer Bagels under there new name FLEISCHER'S TASTY HEALTH. Early this September. Its the same bagel with a new name.

I'm not sure if Walmart will carry them or if you will have to order them from the Fleischer's Bagels website, but they are worth buying. The raisin and plain have bagels have 15 or 16 grams of fiber and are soft inside when toasted and not chewy like some bagels.

If you want to try to get Wal-mart to start stocking Fleischer's carb trimmer bagels, you need to contact them either via email or you can call them at 1-800-WAL-MART (1-800-925-6278) to let them know what you want. UPC code for Carb Trimmer Raisin is 7397877113. I don't have the one for the carb trimmer plain bagel.
