If you live near Huntington Beach, CA, there will be a low carb book signing at the CarbSmart store on Saturday March 19 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Some great low carb writers will be there to sign, including Fred Pescatore who specializes in obesity and kids.
Another interesting attendee is Linda Langdon, the President of Low Carb Creations. I have read up on the company that purchased Low Carb Creations, Sunset Brands. Its goal seems to be to consolidate low carb with good products at reasonable prices. With a lot of the larger food companies bailing on low carb and trying to hammer more "cheaply manufactured whole grain substitutes but with much higher carb counts" down our throats (gotta get those margins up!), this seems like a great time for an honest player to come in with great tasting products at a reasonable price to "takeover" the market. The Atkins brand (not counting Dr. Atkins!) will always have a sour taste in my mouth based on its history in the marketplace.
