Folks, as you know, I have some great readers. And sometimes your idea of what tastes good differs from mine.
The biggest discrepancy that I have found is regarding the taste of low carb bars' (not candy), although not the most vehement. However, I am sure that there may be other well-loved products that did not make my Everyday Low Carb Shopping List.
I'm a blogger, and I'm open and excited to hear from my readers about this. If you have a low carb product that you feel should have made my list, please nominate it by making a comment on this post, listing the item, and also write a few paragraphs why you think it should make the list. Please also list the intended audience for the product. Some products are intended for kids and can have a lot more carbs than products intended for adults, for example.
Some intended audiences include:
- Kids
- Families
- People on the run
- South Beach Dieters
- Low Carb Dieters
- People who prefer organic products
- Vegetarians
- People with allergies
- Gastric Surgery or gastric lap band patients
- Everyone
You can also nominate a product by emailing me with the above information. But a product recommendation is much stronger when you include a strong "why." For example, the Post CarbWell Cereal Bars made my list because they taste good, have less sugar than regular cereal bars, and they also make my kids feel "normal" at lunch by having at least one prepackaged item. (Yes, we can moan about this, but it is a fact.)
Anyhow, once I have the nominations in, depending on the response, I'll either make up a list of the top products and a separate list of all the products nominated, or I'll give everyone a chance to vote on them. (Not sure how I'll do that technically at this point.)
This should be fun!
I'd like to nominate Walden Farms' no carb, no calorie, no sugar Chocolate Syrup to your "must have" grocery list. Suitable for kids, diabetics and low carb diets, it also has no fat. The only thing is DOES have is smashing taste; I love it on Stonyfield's plain no-fat yogurt with inulin. It is awesome that way! The ony downside I have found is that it has a more reddish color if left to sit in the lunchbox too long on the yogurt or ricotta cheese. (Geesh, I'm so sick of ricotta cheese;-) The sweetener is Sucralose, so no gassy effects, either. Yaay!
