I have never enjoyed a low carb cookbook more than The Low-Carb Gourmet by Karen Barnaby. It makes low carbing sensuous and luxurious with a serious "how to" wrapping. Not only do you get to eat the box of chocolates, you learn how to recreate the experience again and again.

I really like this cookbook. I love the recipe for a low-carb crust. She uses the spice thyme quite a lot, but I just substitute that for Old Bay Seasoning or something else.

Stop & Shop -- Carb Options Sale -- Low Carb Mac and Cheese

Folks, I really should do the low carb sales circular posts because then I keep myself up to date. Well, if you like low carb macaroni and cheese or if you have a household that you are trying to make sure they eat more fiber and don't want to take the trouble to make your own cheese sauce, go to Stop & Shop today (because it ends today) and get the Carb Options Cheddar Cheese Sauce for 99 cents a bottle. Fabulous price. But there is a limit of 6 on this! You can't get more than six of the Carb Options brand, whether it is the Ragu Spaghetti sauce or the Alfredo sauce, and get the cheaper price.

Pick up some Dreamfield's pasta while you are there (or order it in bulk at netrition for a cheaper price or go to BJs to get the elbows (they don't have the spaghetti and linguine) and you have the quick fixins for low carb mac and cheese when you need it!

But you have to go today, Saturday, October 9th, because it ends today!
