Never, in the history of this low carb blog, has the entire clan (all four of us) been unanimous about a low carb snack chip -- until now. There has always been one person who didn't like it, or who grew tired of it (usually more than one.) The only products that we consistently purchase at this time are the Trader Joe tortilla chips and soy tortilla chips, even though my daughter doesn't like them.
Doritos Edge -- doesn't measure up...
Hain's Carbfit Twirls -- we stopped buying them a while ago because my daughter overdosed. The same with Girlfriend's Booty. Neither of them compare...
And the new product (why does coming out later make it taste better?) comes from Deliciously Slim. Their tortilla chips, in four flavors, are spectacular. The flavors are: Black Bean & Sour Cream (my husband and my favorite), Three Cheese (the kids favorite), Cool Ranch, and Lightly Salted (haven't tried this one yet.) The flavored versions improve on the Trader Joe's versions with different tastes, but the texture is first rate. Not only that, but they are all natural, and contain flaxseeds with omega 3 oils.
We were able to try these because Deliciously Slim sent them to us, otherwise, we wouldn't have known about them. The problems is, now that I know they are out there, I have to have a steady supply to put in my kid's lunches, and you can only buy them at some health food stores or on their website. They should at least be sold at netrition or some other online vendor if you can't get them in the stores. That way we could combine the shipping costs.
