Trader Joe's has addes some "must have" low carb items to their store. I don't eat a lot of these items since I ration the "non-natural" low carb foods I eat to 300 calories a day or less (and I love the CarbSmart ice cream sandwiches, and I like to eat the low carb yogurt, etc.)
However, I regularly buy snacks because I pack them in my kids' lunchboxes. They need things that look like what the other kids eat... For example, if my daughter has CarbControl Yogurt, then she gets teased. If she has Girlfriend's Booty in a plastic bag with no label, then she doesn't get teased.
Furthermore, if I make a snack item to go, I invariably make a dip and bring the Soy Tortilla Chips.
First, I have to repeat my absolute favorite....
Trader Joe's (Joe's Lows) Soy Tortilla Chips ($1.99 a bag)
Serving Size: 15 chips (28 g)
Calories: 140
Serving Size per Container: about 12
Cholesterol: 0 mg
Sodium: 50 mg
Total Carbohydrate: 13g
Dietary Fiber: 4g
Sugars: 0g
Protein: 6g
I would buy these over regular tortilla chips any day! I always bring them with a dip so I can have some at parties or the church coffee hour.
New!Trader Joe's (Joe's Lows) Nacho Triangles ($1.99 a bag)
My son likes these, my daughter doesn't.
Serving Size: 1 oz. (28g) about 15 chips
Servings Per Container: 5
Calories: 130
Cholesterol: 0 mg
Sodium: 260 mg
Total Carbohydrate: 9 g
Dietary Fiber: 4 g
Sugars: 0 g
Protein: 12 g
Trader Joe's (Joe's Lows) Crunchy Cheese Puffs ($2.19 a bag)
My husband and son like these, my daughter doesn't.
Serving Size: 1 oz. 28 g about 13 puffs
Calories: 130
Cholesterol: 0 mg
Sodium: 240 mg
Total Carbohydrates: 8 g
Dietary Fiber: 1 g
Sugars: 1 g
Protein: 11 g
Trader Joe's Reduced Carb White Bread ($2.79 a loaf)
I only give this to the kids as a treat, since they always have whole wheat bread now.
Serving Size: 1 slice
Calories: 70
Cholesterol: 0 g
Sodium: 150 mg
Total Carb: 9 g
Fiber: 2 g
Sugars: 1 g
Protein: 6 g
As I have said before, Trader Joe's is a GREAT place to go for a wide selection of nuts at good prices. Well, they just added hazelnuts.
Hazelnuts ($3.79 a bag/lb.)
Serving Size: 1/4 cup
Servings Per Container: 15
Calories: 180
Cholesterol: 0 mg
Sodium: 0 mg
Total Carbohydrates: 5 g
Dietary Fiber: 4 g
Sugars: 1 g
Protein: 5 g
You have to be careful with nuts since they are packed with calories. I only eat one serving size per day!

And a personal plea to Trader Joe's to start carrying Girlfriend's Booty, barbecue flavor!!
I have nothing to say at this time.

I tried the Soy Tortilla chips - very good, especially with the Trader Joes spinach dip. I'm bringing some on vacation. I did not like the Nacho Triangles, but the cheese puffs were good.
