I picked up some low carb sweet relish at Crosby's (you can see it on the Crosby's shopping list on the left hand navigation column.) My husband laughed at me because he says that relish doesn't really have carbs. Well, there is a difference between regular relish and sweet relish. He also doesn't know that I look at all the relish labels and choose the regular relish with the least amount of carbs. The best brand that I found for regular relish happens to be:
Cain's Dill Relish
Serving size: 1 tablespoon
Calories: 0
Sodium: 220 mg.
Total Carb: 0
Sugar: 0
Protein: 0
Now, I'm sure there are some calories in this relish. Companies don't have to put the number of calories if it is less than 1, but most companies put >1 to let you know that there are some carbs and calories, but, according to the rules (which I am too lazy to look up right now), you don't have to. This is where some people get into trouble. They eat or drink a LOT of things that say they have 0 (but really have .6), but if the portions get high enough, it can have an impact.
Anyhow, regular dill relish does taste different than sweet relish. And regular pickles do taste different than bread & butter pickles.
There is one brand of pickles and relish that sweetens their pickles and relish with Splenda. It is called Mt. Olive Low Carb Relish & Pickles.
Mt. Olive Bread & Butter Pickle Strips
Serving Size 1 oz. (about 1 strip)

Sodium: 105 mg.

Mt. Olive No Sugar Added Sweet Relish

Sodium: 80 mg.
Total Carb: 1 g.
Sugars: 0 g.

Market Basket carries the bread and butter pickles. I just picked them up on Saturday actually, but they don't carry the relish. Crosby's carries the relish.
Here is a list of places that carry the Mt. Olive brand. They will also ship a gift pack.
And to show that I am not the only one excited about this, here is a note from Sharon who had a friend ship it to her from Pennsylvania:
