Low Carb Entenmanns Snacks & Cakes
Wow, according to this article, Entemanns low carb snacks and cakes were introduced this week. They are also phasing out trans fat by the end of the year.
(And does the Weston Bakeries have a lame website! The graphics don't click, do they? I'm not missing something, am I? If so, there is absolutely NO information on their site at all. Nothing. Except how to contact them. This is the weirdest thing I have EVER seen! I was able to even find nutritional information on the Dunkin Donuts site for their muffins yesterday. It was hidden, but it was there at least! Talk about getting heart attacks, Dunkin Donuts bran muffins have 81 grams of carbs!) (Update: They have improved their website and discontinued Entenmann's Low carb. More here.)
Update: I bought this -- the Entenmann's Low Carb Crumb Cake. It is Atkins' branded, and it says it is for phase 4, which means that you should only eat it on maintenance (after you have reached your goal) and on birthdays. (grin) Actually, that birthday part was my addition.
I took a taste. Warning! You must be extremely careful when you buy this product. It could easily induce the binge eating that many of us experienced before Atkins. Why? Because it is good, albeit a bit dry, which seems impossible because it has so much fat in it, but very very good.
Each type (loaf, muffins, crumb cake, cookies) has about 170 calories for a small piece or serving size and has 9 grams of net carbs.
I managed to only eat my one serving size, but it was tempting!
As always, remember, you cannot eat more than 300 calories a day of non-natural low carb products! Otherwise, you will just gain weight!
Update: The next morning, I wasn't able to eat just one serving size because I wasn't even sopposed to be eating it between breakfast and lunch! I am only going to buy this product when I have eight low carbers on hand so they can each have a piece and I won't have any leftovers! This is the first time a low carb product produced a "trigger" for me that reminded me of what it was like before I low carbed!
SOMETIMES IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE A HUNTER AND GATHERER. I BOUGHT THE CHOC CHIP COOKIES, AND THE BROWNIES AND THE MUFFINS. 3 FOR 5.00 AT THE DAY OLD STORE ON CENTRAL STREET IN BROCKTON, MA..THEY ALSO SELL ARNOLD 6 CARB BREAD THERE FOR 1.26 A LOAF OR 3 FOR SOMETHING..ALSO THOMAS CARB COUNTING BAGELS THERE @ 1 SOMETHING TOO..WATCH OUT FOR WHAT YOU ASK FOR..ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE VERY GOOD. THE CHOC CHIP COOKIES COULD BE THE BEST COMMERCIA PRODUCT I EVER TASTED.

These products, although Atkins approved, contain WHITE FLOUR! What's up with that? I am a label reader and true Atkins follower - no white processed anything, even in Phase 4. It can be a dangerous thing to be toying with this stuff. Remember Snack Wells?

I tried the chocolate chip cookies, and they're really good, but along with the white-flour problems, they're made with maltitol, the sugar alcohol that causes (at least in me) digestive problems. Does anyone else notice this effect from maltitol? How I wish Entenmann's had made these with Splenda instead!

These were the WORST cookies I ever had in my life!
First they are $4.45 for a box. Then the warnings about the “laxative effects” are not printed on the outside of the box, it is written inside so you have to pay to get that information. So if you have that problem, make sure are close by a bathroom. I will NEVER eat anything ATKINS again!

The Entenmanns crumb cake is great but I can't find it anymore? Did they stop making it?

S.,
I haven't looked recently, but I'll keep my eyes open! I think it was a good seller, but they only had production for it for one day a month or something like that... this was according to an Entenmann's driver a few months ago.

I LOVED the entenmanns mini muffins. One bag lists 9 net carbs but as a dessert 1 out of the 4 pieces was satisfactory.
Problem- I have not been able to find ANY Entenmanns low carb Atkins approved products in the last 3 weeks. Have they stopped making them?

Why don't the grocery stores in Middlesex County New Jersey carry the entemanns low carb cakes? All I can find are the chocolate chip cookies. I used to love the crumb cake and the pound cake, but they don't exist anymore. What's up with that?

I live in Brooklyn, NY and it is almost impossible to find low carb Entenmann's products. I look for them all the time. Why aren't stores carrying them?

I live in Maryland and I was tried of running to six stores that carried the low carb and couldn't find any. So today I called Entenmanns and they told me that they were losing money on all the low carb products and was going to discontinue them. I'm so upset over this.
